Metrolink News Number 5

The latest news on the Metrolink works can be found on the Secretary's notice board in the Clubhouse. In addition to the report, reproduced below, on what is currently happening there is also a plan of the proposed new car park entrance and security barriers.

Utility Supply

The new electric cable has now been connected and the contractors are currently restoring surfaces to their former condition (or better).
Work is underway to identify the gas and telecoms cables and relocate if necessary. Most of this work is to the LHS of the entrance road.

Building the Line

At a meeting held on 20th January MPT indicated they may reduce the areas of SGC land that they require to use on a temporary basis during the building of the line. Details of the agreement will be released when the Deed of Easement has been signed. There should be no interference with the playing of golf but naturally there will be construction noise and some visual movement around hole 3 and the 4th tee for perhaps 14 months.

New Entrance

The design of the new entrance has now been formally agreed with MPT. The drawing attached shows the general layout. MPT will be funding all the new items shown on the drawing but not the automatic barrier gate system.
