WGTB Club Trophy 2009

The WGTB Club Trophy is a competetion organised by our local golf reporter, Geoff Garnett, of WGTB Golf for members from the following golf clubs: Sale, Ashton on Mersey, Chorlton, Denton, Didsbury, Dukinfield, Fairfield, Heaton Moor, Houldsworth, Reddish Vale, Stamford, Withington, Northenden, Davyhulme Park and Ashton under Lyne.

Each club is allowed a maximum entry of 21 pairs.

The format of the competition is three/four rounds of match play beginning in May to produce the 16 pairs to contest the final, this year to played at Reddish Vale GC on Sunday 4 October. The final is played as a better ball stableford. The competition is sponsored, with this year's first prize being a two centre golfing break with 3 nights at Valdaine Golf Hotel and Resort in the Rhone Valley and 2 nights at a 4* QHotel Golf Resort of your choice in the UK. Second prize is a golfing break at Woll Golf Club in the Scottish Borders.

Entry is invited from male members, over 18 years of age, with a handicap limit of 21. The cost is £12 per pair, which goes towards supporting the Golf Foundation. Complimentary green fees apply for away golfers.
