Mail on Sunday

Sale Ladies' remarkable run in the Mail on Sunday competition came to an end last week.

Their quest began in February along with over 2000 other teams from across the UK. With some great team performances home and away, the Ladies reached the last 32: a first for Sale Golf Club.

Despite the unstinting support of the caddies and other Club members, the team went down 3.5 to 1.5 to Lancashire big guns, Pleasington away.
Unlucky, but congratulations ladies.

Lady Presidents Day Success

Lady President, Maureen Howie, enjoyed the big day in her year and awarded the prizes to players in the 36 hole Margaret Smith Challenge Trophy and the 18 hole Subsidiary. Both were Par Competitions.

Hilary Tarleton took first prize in the 36 hole with a score of 4 up. The runner up was Jane Ashcroft at 1 up. Dorothy Anderson won the 18 hole subsidiary with a 2 up score, and Barbara Wetton came 2nd with 1 up.
