PRESIDENT'S RECOLLECTIONS

What a terrific year to have been President of Sale Golf Club. It must have been the most harmonious year I can remember with every area of the club functioning smoothly, at least to my eyes.

I have had the pleasure of serving alongside a marvellous and very popular Captain who has immersed himself in the club for the last 12 months.

The Lady Captain has also been great and involved in everything possible, and her blog on the website has been compulsive reading.

It was a pity Lady President was unable to play much golf or attend many functions due to her operation in autumn but I enjoyed her company whenever she was able to participate. Congratulations and thanks to all the committees for making it such a good year for myself and indeed all the members. The clubhouse facilities and the course were magnificent all year. I think the greens in November were as good as many greens I played in midsummer.

And to top it off the finances showed much improvement. Well done to everyone who helped make this happen.

Finally thank you to all the members who kindly put their name down to play golf with me throughout the year. I sadly will not remember you all but I enjoyed meeting so many members with whom I had never played golf before.
